Details about the band (taken from their Facebook):
History: Karacoma, the band formerly known as Senjakala to most of the locals in Brunei that consists of members from various lineups of the band . Thus the formation of Karacoma is free-flowing and unintentional. Karacoma started out as a side project due to creative tension in Senjakala during the recording of their album . And with this Mawie decided to do a project band with Jaz and Adi for creative freedom and later on Sam joined in, as she felt most of her songs were unsuitable for Senjakala .
With Sam joining Karacoma, once again became the same songwriting team of Sam, Mawie and Adi that made Senjakala a success at a time when Brunei radio was dominated by local hiphop acts and their success include Pelangi FM award for Best Group 2004, Big Day Out 2004 award (the winner voted by the public), Kristal FM best local English song 2003 (for the track "My Sanctuary") and several local radio top 10 hits .
As tensions arose during recording sessions within Senjakala the band finally brokeup and Karacoma went on to be a full time band .
Karacoma released their first single Paranoia that went straight to number 4 on Kristal FM charts but the band was unable to fire full cylinders and capitalize on that moment because Sam had to further her studies in Melbourne, Australia .
Karacoma made several failed attempts to record a full length album due to technical problems and dissatisfaction with the audio scope of their sound
And in 2008 Karacoma decided to built their own studio to record their album . As the album recording side was nearing completion where everything have been recorded except for some of the bass tracks, problems arose again when Mawie had to leave to further his studies in United KIngdom and the studio had to be closed down because it was located in his house .
However this did not stop the album recording. The bass tracks was completed by Yenz Leonhardt who plays for Iron Savior, Savage Circus, Stormwarrior, and the touring bassist for Lacrimosa .
In April 2009 ,the album was mixed at Chapel Studio, Lincolnshire by Simon Efemey who is most noted for his work with metal and hard rock groups, including Napalm Death, Paradise Lost, Obituary, Amorphis, Deceased and The Wildhearts .
Currently Karacoma is still waiting for the mastering stage of their album which probably be mastered at Foel Studio and have set April 2010 as their target date for their album release .
